Minister of the Interior Ayelet Shaked paid tribute to the late Col. Sharon Asman:
''I join in the grief of the Nahal Brigade and the Asman family over the untimely passing of Col. Sharon Asman. Asman was an authentic Israeli hero, who fought in Operation Protective Edge, was wounded, and returned to battle the same day. He was a valued officer, a clever and professional man who was recommended by his commanders to the most senior positions in the IDF. I send my condolences to and warmly embrace his wife and two daughters. May his memory be blessed, '' Shaked said.
