Smotrich on Evyatar deal: 'Ball now in government's hands'

Chairman of the Religious Zionism party, MK Bezalel Smotrich, discussed the agreement to regulate the Jewish community of Evyatar in Samaria under Israeli law.

"The determination and love of the Israel have won out. My thanks goes out to the the residents of the town, the Samaria Regional Council, the tens of thousands of supporters who in recent weeks have shown their love of Israel by standing guard of the community, and Defense Minister Gantz for coming up with a plan to save the young community," he said.

"With the local residents giving their consent to the agreement, the ball is now in the hands of the government, which must approve the deal, thus doing the right thing and preventing serious and unnecessary destruction."

I call on all supporters of a Greater Israel to continue stengthening their presence in this land without moving a centimeter from the deal approved by the people of the town. This is what Zionism means in our generation. The people of Israel are with you," he concluded.
