Foreign Minister Yair Lapid met in Rome with Bahrain Foreign Minister 'Abd al-Latif al-Ziani:
Lapid said: ''I thank the Bahraini Foreign Minister for a warm and candid meeting. We talked at length about the process of normalization in the Middle East and the need to expand it to other countries. Peace with Bahrain should be an example of the process that needs to be repeated throughout our region."
"We also talked about the challenges facing the Middle East, especially Iran. The connection between the State of Israel and Bahrain is important for both countries and we will continue to strengthen it for our mutual benefit," he added.
