Foreign Minister Yair Lapid responded to the Polish prime minister, who said that his country "will not pay for German crimes: neither zlotys, nor euros nor dollars."

Lapid replied: "The Polish prime minister needs to check the facts again. Millions of Jews were murdered on Polish soil and no legislation will erase their memory. We are not interested in Polish money and the very idea is antisemitic. We are fighting for the memory of the victims of the Holocaust, for the pride of our people, and no parliament can enact laws aimed at denying the Holocaust."
