Nathaniel Isaac, deputy mayor of Lod, commented on the attempted lynching of several individuals today:
"Things here are getting serious. Only last night they found a submachine gun inside an air conditioner in the yard of a school in Lod. Unfortunately, the violence in the city continues unabated and there is no deterrence at all," Isaac said. ''I fear that this violence will reach all parts of the country very quickly and further riots will break out in other cities. If violence is not addressed, it will eventually harm law-abiding citizens. We will continue to push for legislation and enforcement to punish the rioters. The government must focus on a solution in the cities plagued by violence before it spreads to the rest of the country."
