'Belgian govt. has duty to protect citizens, including Jews'

Chief Rabbi Pinchas Goldschmidt, president of the Conference of European Rabbis (CER), responded to the decision of the Belgian government to remove military security from Jewish institutions.

“We follow closely the concerns of the Jewish communities of Belgium regarding the downgrading of the help of the state to the security of the Jewish community. We would like to remind the Belgian government that it is responsible to protect the lives of all its citizens, including the Jews, from possible terror attacks,” Rabbi Goldschmidt said.
