Former Minister under PM Sharon and one-time leader of the Labor party, Haim Ramon, commented on the expected voting for the citizenship law during an interview with Galei Tzahal Radio.
"It's unfair and immoral for Shaked and Bennett to rely on the opposition to come to their rescue. Likud MKs would be complete idiots to vote in favor," he said.
"There is something very strange here," he continued. "Bennett, Shaked, and Gantz are claiming that anyone who votes against the law is harming Israeli security and undermining the existence of the State of Israel as a Jewish state. But whom are they telling this? The [political] partner whose seat they've taken over? Meaning, they're accusing [the Likud] of hurting national security?," asked Ramon during the interview.
