Sheikh Yussuf Al-Baz will be held in police custody until Monday, following his arrest on charges of incitement to violence.
The sheikh is the imam of the mosque in Lod, which emerged as a base of incitement during the recent Operation Guardian of the Walls. Al-Baz recently posted a graphic and violent video on his Facebook page, showing the immolation of two police officers, presumably Jewish, at the hands of a private citizen, with the caption, "This is the way to deal with injustice."
