The lack of political stability seen over the past two years, with four rounds of elections during that period only narrowly resulting in the current government, has prompted one Likud MK to propose a new law - that only the leaders of the two largest political parties should be eligible to serve as Prime Minister.
Israel Hayom reports that the new law has been submitted by MK Eli Cohen. If passed, the law will not permit a leader of a small political party to serve as premier, nor for the leader of one of the two largest parties to enter into a rotation agreement with him.
