Speaking on Galei Tzahal this morning, coalition head Idit Silman (Yamina) discussed the government's intention to extend the law banning unification of families where one spouse is an Israeli Arab and the other, an Arab from the Palestinian Authority.
"I don't think for a moment that the Likud and Religious Zionism parties won't support [this law]," Silman said. "They cannot throw away years of accepted practice because of political interests. This is an exercise performed by the Opposition, but we have a responsibility vis-a-vis this law that is about to expire."
