Opposition leader Netanyahu attended a ceremony marking the 30th anniversary of "Operation Solomon" today in the Knesset.
"Operation Solomon was a historic operation, an important milestone in the history of Ethiopian Jews," he said."The rise of Ethiopian Jewry represents to me more than anything the essence of Judaism. Judaism exemplifies humanity and the idea of hope. No nation has suffered more from our people, no nation has experienced more exile, dispossession, and abuse than our people. Most ancient peoples were exiled or disappeared. The Jewish people are the only people who have refused to disappear. We have maintained our hope for thousands of years - to return to our homeland and re-establish our sovereignty. "
