US President Joe Biden announced on Thursday that the United States would purchase 500 million doses of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine and donate them the world's poorest countries.
Biden, speaking alongside Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla in the English seaside resort of Carbis Bay, said, "The United States is providing these half billion doses with no strings attached. No strings attached. Our vaccine donations don't include pressure for favors, or potential concessions. We're doing this to save lives."
