The Office of the Minister of Defense informed the Prime Minister's Office that there is no provision in the law stating that the issuance of a demarcation order in the Judea and Samaria area requires the approval of the Prime Minister, contrary to Netanyahu's announcement last night.

The response also reads: "Without being required to answer the complex questions involved in determining land status in the area, the very establishment of the outpost is an illegal operation whose scope and characteristics are exceptional. The exceptional circumstances are what brought about the decision regarding the demarcation order, after consultations with all relevant legal and security officials."
