An excavation by the Israel Antiquities Authority in Yavneh revealed a fully intact 1,000-year-old chicken egg. "Even at a world level, this is a very rare find," said Dr. Lee Perry Gal, an archaeozoologist with the excavation team.
The excavation revealed, among other things, a wide industrial zone from the Byzantine period, and is part of a larger project of the Israel Land Authority to expand the city.
