Petah Tikva has issued an announcement reporting infestations of formic termites in certain areas of the city.
The announcement stated that upon first suspecting an infestation, it is recommended to keep windows closed and exterminate the termites with household pesticides.
The city's pest control department has been alerted and will work to fumigate public areas and sewer systems. Private individuals are advised to call a licensed exterminator to handle the problem.
