Over the past weekend, the police hotline received a report of a 10-year-old boy whose father beat him and handcuffed him in East Jerusalem.

Israeli police officers arrived at the scene, entered the house, located the boy in a side room, released him from handcuffs, and rescued him.

The suspected father, in his 40s, was arrested on suspicion of abuse of a helpless person and assault causing bodily harm to a minor by an authority figure and was taken for questioning by the police. His detention was extended.
