MK Ayman Odeh, head of the predominantly-Arab Joint List, has joined fellow Arabs in the city of Lod in a demonstration today.

"Together with the residents of Lod, I demand justice for Moussa Hassuna and his family," Odeh said. "If the victim had been a Jew, [Minister for Internal Security Amir] Ohana would have been the first person to demand a strict retribution for the murderer, but when the victim is an Arab citizen, the murderers get the full backing of the justice system. Is it murder or isn't it? Not in a country which has such a Nationality Law."

Mussa Hassuna was killed by a Jewish man apparently in self-defense from an Arab mob, which Hassuna appeared to be part of. Three Jews were arrested in connection with the shooting but have been subsequently released.
