Responding to last night's firebomb attack on a Jewish home in Lod, Deputy Education Minister Meir Porush (UTJ) said that the government should be taking a far more harsh approach when it comes to Arab rioters.
"The government needs to mete out harsh punishment to these rioters in Lod," Porush said. "We should not tolerate a situation in which Jews living in an Israeli city fear to leave their homes and have to organize private security in order to protect their families. I will be discussing this issue with the Minister for Internal Security as well as the Chief of Police and will be demanding that they maintain a police presence in Lod, in order to restore calm to the city."
