Foreign Minister Ashkenazi summoned French Amb. Eric Danon for reprimand, after the French FM said Israel could become an apartheid state.
"The FM's words are unacceptable, unfounded and far from reality. Israel expects its friends not to express themselves irresponsibly, which gives rise to extremist elements and anti-Israel activity," Ashkenazi said.
