Justice Minister Benny Gantz took the side of the Supreme Court over their decision:
"The Supreme Court's decision is binding, and the outcry of elected officials in court shames the Knesset and those who protested the ruling. In a democratic state governed by the rule of law, every citizen should respect court rulings. As long as I am the Minister of Justice, I will make sure that there is no harm to the rule of law systems," Gantz said.
