Commenting on his discussion with Defense Minister Benny Gantz, US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin said that he was pleased that Israel had decided on a ceasefire.
"I told him that I welcomed the decision of Israel's cabinet to agree to a ceasefire," Austin said, "and we both also agreed that Israel has the right to defend herself against the threat of missile and rocket fire."
