MK Yair Golan (Meretz) has demanded that MK Itamar Ben Gvir (Religious Zionism) be ousted from the influential Knesset Defense and Foreign Affairs committee, following statements made by police chief Kobi Shabtai blaming Ben Gvir for provoking Arab violence and being responsible for the "current intifada."
"It's incomprehensible that he is sitting on the Foreign Affairs and Defense committee, which is responsible for the security of Israel's citizens, at the same time as he is encouraging and inciting violence. I have sent a letter to the head of the committee and the Knesset Speaker, demanding that he be ousted from the committee immediately."
