Speaking on Galei Tzahal this morning, MK Ram Ben Barak (Yesh Atid) addressed yesterday's decision by Yamina party head MK Naftali Bennett to cease negotiations with the "Bloc for Change," with the stated reason being that such a diverse coalition of parties, relying on the outside support of the United Arab List, is incapable of dealing with the current security situation.
"I am very disappointed in Bennett," he said. "I would have thought that someone who presents himself as Prime Minister material would be able to withstand the pressure brought to bear on him - from his party, and from his electorate."
He added that, "The political situation is not headed in a good direction. I hope that Gantz, at least, has learned his lesson and won't agree to join Netanyahu in any future coalition, but I can't say that I'm 100% confident of this.
"We will continue to make every effort to form a coalition," he continued. "If we succeed, then great - and if not, we'll head to elections."
