Speaking on Galei Tzahal this morning, Brigadier-General (res.) Tzvika Fogel, formerly head of the Southern Command, addressed what is still being called an "escalation" in the Israel-Gaza situation.
"Hamas should no longer be considered a terrorist organization - it's a state," he said. "Let's exploit this fact - they have what to lose. Under no circumstances should we accept a ceasefire that Hamas might beg for. And, instead of wiping out 20 senior Hamas commanders every day, we should be wiping out 50."
