The Lebanese newspaper Al-Akhbar reports that Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas has informed the European Union, Jordan and Egypt of his decision to cancel the Palestinian parliamentary elections.
According to the report, the European Union recommended that the PA chairman wait with the decision until Thursday, so that they would try to pressure Israel to agree to hold the elections in eastern Jerusalem.
