Israel's National Security Council, which is responsible for the relationship between Israel and Chad, is closely following the situation after Chad President Idriss Déby died after being re-elected, Israel Hayom reported.

According to the report, the Council expects that changes in Chad's rulership will not harm the close ties between Israel and Chad.

Diplomatic sources in Israel noted that Chad was the first Muslim country in the area to begin the process of normalizing its ties with Israel, opening the way for other countries to follow.
