Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Aviv Kochavi commented on an incident in which a group of radical haredim from Jerusalem reportedly burned flags and wreaths laid in memory of IDF soldiers killed in Israel's wars, and called it a "serious and shameful incident," "meant to insult those who gave their lives for the state and its values."
"The IDF salutes bereaved families and condemns this disgusting and outrageous act. We are certain that the Israel Police will [find] and punish the perpetrators of this criminal act," Kochavi added.
