The events for the Day of Remembrance for the Martyrs of the Israeli Armed Forces and the Victims of Hostilities will open today at 4:00 pm, at the state ceremony at Beit Yad Labanim in Jerusalem, in the presence of the Prime Minister, the Speaker of the Knesset, the President of the Supreme Court and the Mayor of Jerusalem.
At 8 pm in the evening, a one-minute siren will sound, and immediately afterwards the opening ceremony of Remembrance Day events will begin at the Western Wall, in the presence of the President and Prime Minister. Afterwards, an "evening of songs in memory of the victims of the Israeli military and hostilities" will be held at the Knesset.
Tomorrow at 11:00 am a two-minute siren will sound, followed by memorial ceremonies in cemeteries around the country, including the main ceremony at the Mount Herzl Memorial Hall. At 1 pm, a ceremony will be held on Mount Herzl in memory of the victims of the hostilities. The Memorial Day events will end with the torch lighting ceremony that will take place tomorrow evening at 8:00 pm at the Mount Herzl Square and will officially open the Independence Day celebrations.
