An Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman confirmed for the first time that the centrifuges at the Natanz reactor had been damaged. He said old-generation R-1 centrifuges had been damaged and would be replaced with new centrifuges.
"The attack on Natanz is ominous," the spokesman said. "It is a crime against humanity because it could have led to disaster."
