59-year-old actor Eddie Murphy is expected to be inducted into the NAACP Image Awards Hall of Fame on March 27, reported The Hill.
Murphy has also been awarded the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor as well as a Golden Globes nomination for a 2007 movie.
Talk show host Oprah Winfrey and singer Aretha Franklin have previously been nominated for the prize.
“To this day, Eddie Murphy’s work continues to bring joy and laughter to individuals around the world, and he is an amazing example of black excellence, creativity, and artistry," said the organization's chairman.
