A-Taher Hajar, leader of the Sudan Liberation Movement for Justice-Karbino, told Kann News that Israel should not try to force Sudanese asylum seekers to return home as part of a deal establishing diplomatic ties between the two countries.
"Israel has a moral responsibility to them and they should be treated as refugees. They may return to Sudan by choice, but by no means forced to do so," Hajar said.
He also mentioned the slow pace of negotiations to establish ties and Sudan's internal opposition to the move and said that disputes would not affect Sudan's strategic decision and that it intended to continue on this path.
