Prof. Eran Segal of the Weizmann Institute welcomed the opening of the economy in an interview with Galei Tzahal (Army Radio) on Sunday evening.
"The decision to open is the right one, we will not have better data on vaccines than this. We have bought ourselves a safety margin in terms of serious illness - we are seeing more and more studies on a decrease in the level of infection," Segal said, adding, "Even if the coefficient of infection rises to 1.2, which means doubling the number of verified cases once every two weeks, we can absorb 2 or 3 doublings before we see the hospitals full."
