7.3 magnitude earthquake shakes New Zealand

A strong 7.3 mag earthquake was reported at 10km depth at around 1:27pm local time near Gisborne, New Zealand today (Thur).

No injuries have been reported.

Authorities have warned residents of a possible tsunami.
