Israel's health authorities reported 3 cases of the new New York variant of the COVID virus - all emanating from the same family. The mutation was first discovered about three months ago and has been found mostly in the NYC-area.
Two additional cases of the 1.525 COVID variant, which originated in Africa and have found in their way to the UK, US, Nigeria and Jordan, have also been detected in the country.
The Ministry of Health said it would continue providing the latest updates on new developments in the outbreak.
