Israeli police arrested a 60-year-old resident of Ashdod last night, after he allegedly cut infrastructure belonging to a residential building with the intention of stealing them, and causing a dangerous gas leak.
Police were called to Elbaz Street in Ashdod following a report of a pungent odor of gas spreading in the building.
The suspect was arrested for questioning on suspicion of theft and damage to infrastructure, and today, Monday, he will be brought before the court for a hearing on his case.
