i24NEWS reported that Israel, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates are in talks to establish a strategic defense alliance between the countries.

A senior official in the United Arab Emirates and a Saudi official close to the royal family say the alliance would be designed to safeguard security-political interests, similar to the NATO pact.

No official response has yet been received from the Prime Minister's Office. A political source said: "We are not confirming the report. Israel is constantly working to strengthen ties with the Arab world."
