Ben-Gurion University of the Negev announced that this coming Thursday a delegation from the university will assist in the efforts to clean the beaches from the tar hazard in the Mediterranean.

The announcement states that "the incident of the spill of tar in the Mediterranean off the coast of Israel affected 170 km of coastline in Israel and affected most of the coastal strip from north to south. This is a serious sanitary and environmental hazard. The ecological damage from the event is huge and affects marine animals, algae, animals and plants on the beach, ground and sand pollution, damage to seawater quality and more. We invite the entire public of employees and students to take part in this important activity. "
