An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 7.1 struck off Japan's eastern coast on Saturday, the Japan Meteorological Agency said.
The epicenter was off the coast of Fukushima, at a depth of 36 miles (60 km), the agency added.
Also on Saturday, an earthquake measuring 4.7 hit five miles (eight kilometers) southeast of the Armenian capital of Yerevan, that country's emergency ministry said.
