A gas tanker exploding Saturday at a customs post in Afghanistan left at least ten people injured, officials reported.
The explosion, which occurred in the town of Islam Qala near the Iranian border, spread to dozens of nearby fuel trucks and according to Waheed Qatali, governer of the Herat province, left the Iranian authorities asking for urgent assistance to contain the flames.
It is not clear what caused the gas tanker to explode. According to Mohammad Shirzai, spokesperson for the province of Herat's health department, the injured were taken to a hospital and number of casualties could rise.
