Russian police on Tuesday detained more than 900 people at protests in favor of opposition leader Alexei Navalny the OVD-Info protest monitoring group said.
A court in Moscow on Tuesday handed Navalny a three-and-a-half-year sentence, though his lawyer said he would actually serve two years and eight months in jail because of time already spent under house arrest.
