Following a determined battle within the Knesset and government, Blue and White has successfully pushed the equal enforcement bill through.

The government will now be responsible for applying coronavirus enforcement equally in all parts of the country. The bill specifically targets the haredi sector, which some lawmakers have accused of getting a free pass on enforcement of the law.

The Blue and White said the new law would be "applicable in Rishon Lezion and Herzliya as much as Bnei Brak and Kiryat Sefer."

"This is a big win for Blue and White, but it is primarily a win for the people, and a win in the battle against infection. Equal enforcement is not a measure taken against the Haredi sector; it is a measure designed for their benefit and for the benefit of every Israeli citizen," read a statement from the party.
