Over the weekend, police issued 8,959 fines for COVID violations throughout the country.
Most were for leaving a place of residence for a disallowed purpose or action, 7,241, including 1,195 for not wearing a face mask, 104 for isolation breach, 89 for various violations by businesses, and 211 for being in a public place where activities have been banned.
