Ichilov Hospital Director and first coronavirus coordinator Prof. Roni Gamzu today told Yediot Ahronot that the current lockdown is "ineffective".

"First of all, the public should be congratulated. They stood three lockdowns whose cumulative length is among the longest in the world, if not the longest. The public isn't to blame. They sacrificed everything they have. How long can you tell people 'don't see your parents, grandparents'? Over time it becomes an impossible decree, and as there's more of a vaccinated population, people begin to move away from the restrictions and the restrictions move away from them. Therefore, at this stage, adjustments must be made to the new reality," Gamzu said.
