MK Bezalel Smutrich attacked the satirical show Eretz Nehederet following their portrayal of leader of the Torah world Rabbi Chaim Kanievsky and his grandson Yanki.
"I protest the attack against Rabbi Chaim Kanievsky," he wrote. "The comedy industry not only despises the Rabbi but the entire Jewish traditional, religious and haredi public who admire the great sages of our community."
"Your contempt sheds light on your world values and who you are. During your stupid sketch, Rabbi Kanievsky will have taught a few more pages of the Talmud, and everything else carries much less substance."
