Head of Iranian President Hassan Rouhani's office reacted to Israel's chief of staff Aviv Kochavi's statement that the Islamic Republic must be prevented from accessing nuclear capability.
"Iran won't hesitate in defending itself in case of an Israeli strike," he was quoted as saying.
He went on to say that with the administration change in Washington, the US would no longer feel obliged to comply with Israel's security demands.
"Israel is incapable of pulling off such a strike and they are not considering a move of this nature," he continued. "This is a psychological ruse on their behalf."
