A reporter for the J. The Jewish News of Northern California daily said that "after a seven hour meeting the San Francisco school board voted to rename 44 district schools, more than a third of all public schools in the city. Lincoln, Washington, Diane Feinstein, Sutro among schools to be renamed. Schools have until Apr. 19 to suggest new ones."

One reader tweeted back: "The SF school board busily renaming schools that have been closed for months and that it's incapable of formulating a plan to open is really Soviet Union levels of ineffectual absurdity. I was on the call; everyone on the board just nods their heads like this is normal."
