Prof. Itamar Grotto, Deputy Director General of the Ministry of Health, spoke in an interview with Galei Tzahal (Army Radio) about the decision to shut down Ben Gurion Airport for two weeks.
"Mutations will continue to arrive, but we want to meet them with as high a vaccination rate as possible. In the coming week we will accumulate protection - close to a million people will be vaccinated, and assuming the vaccine protects against the known mutations, the chances of them spreading are reduced," Grotto said.
