Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu today will bring to the government a proposal to stop flights to and from Israel for two weeks.

Last night, Netanyahu held a discussion on the issue with representatives of the National Security Council and the Ministries of Transport and Health after reports that the South African mutation is resistant to vaccines and the increase in morbidity from the British mutation. In the discussion, it was agreed in principle to ban entry and exit of foreign and Israeli passenger flights, to reduce permits to arrive at Ben Gurion Airport, and to formulate a separate outline for humanitarian cases that will require special flights.
