Secretary of State-nominee Tony Blinken said former Pres. Donald Trump's "tougher approach" on China was the right one to take even though he "disagreed very much with the way that he went about it in a number of areas..." according to a Newsmax report.
Blinken made the comments during a Senate confirmation hearing. He also indicated agreement with outgoing Secretary of State Pompeo branding of China's persecution of Uighur Muslims as "genocide."
Blinken also seemed to agree with Trump's stance on his support for Taiwan in its struggle for self-rule.
