UTJ MK Yaakov Tessler responded to the decision by the Harish City Council regarding running a business on Shabbat.
"The decision by the Harish City Council and the outrageous words of the mayor hurt the feelings of tens of thousands of Jews and deserve every condemnation. The Shabbat is not of an extreme minority. The Shabbat belongs equally to all of Israel and the residents of Harish.
"It is sad that precisely in a time of crisis, the mayor makes a decision to desecrate Shabbat, instead of strengthening it. We will continue to be vigilant in preventing the desecration of the Sabbath in the public sphere and in complying with the provisions of the law," Tessler said.
